National Orange Day: Seattle

March 25: SEATTLE - National Orange Day is a celebration of Syracuse University’s founding on March 24, 1870. It’s a great day to honor SU by giving back! The Syracuse University Alumni Club of Seattle invites alumni to join us for our National Orange Day clean-up efforts from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 25 at Paradise Valley Conservation Area (23210 Paradise Lake Rd.). Meet with fellow alumni and members of the community as we clean up trails at this beautiful park. RSVP. Contact Jenn Dandrea '05 for more information. 

National Orange Day: Northern New Jersey

March 25: MORRISTOWN - The Syracuse University Alumni Club of Northern New Jersey is participating in National Orange Day on Saturday, March 25. The club is doing a Spring Clean-Up at Deirdre’s House (8 Court St.), a child advocacy center 
in Morristown. Volunteers will clean-up the playrooms, backyard playground, and common areas from 9-11 a.m. Volunteers are also needed to purchase and provide 100 percent juice boxes and small bottles of water, along with boxes and

National Orange Day: Dallas-Fort Worth

March 25: DALLAS-The Syracuse University Alumni Club of Dallas-Fort Worth invites alumni to join us for our National Orange Day volunteer project as we prepare food for the homeless in Dallas. All alumni and friends of SU are welcome (children 12 and under need to be accompanied by a parent) as we give back to the SoupMobile, a non-profit charity that serves more than 200,000 meals each year to the homeless in the Dallas area. We'll gather at the Life Church of Coppell (200 Fitness Ct.) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 25. 
Participants should wear an Orange SU t-shirt and pull back your hair or wear a hat. Participants also need to bring one of the following items:
*Sliced white/wheat sandwich bread
*Sliced bologna
*American cheese slices
*Tortilla chips

National Orange Day: New York City

March 29: NEW YORK - Big Apple Orange, the Syracuse University Alumni Club of New York City, is celebrating National Orange Day on Wednesday, March 29. Join fellow Syracuse University alumni and friends for an evening of trivia at Duke's (560 Third Ave.) from 7-9 pm. There is a $5 minimum donation per player (teams consist of four players), with that minimum donation going towards the Big Apple Orange Scholarship Fund to help support deserving Syracuse students from the New York City-area. Prizes will also be awarded to the winning teams. 

National Orange Day: Philadelphia

April 01: PHILADELPHIA - The Syracuse University Alumni Club of Philadelphia is participating in National Orange Day on April 1. Our club will be helping to beautify and clean up a portion of the Schuykill River Trail in Conshohocken starting at 9:30 a.m. We will help cleanup the beautiful trails and will spend approximately 2.5 hours with our clean-up efforts. Immediately following the clean-up, we'll meet at Conshohocken Brewing Company (739 E. Elm St.) to enjoy food and beverages available for purchase. Please RSVP if you're interested in assisting with the clean-up efforts. There is an office complex right by for parking, or you can take the Norristown/Manyunk train to either Spring Mill Station or Conshohocken Station and walk on the trail to the brewery. Trains arrive at 9:00 a.m. and 9:03 a.m. respectively.

National Orange Day: Boston

April 01: BOSTON - Join the Syracuse University Alumni Club of Boston as we celebrate National Orange Day! Alumni are invited to join us for our National Orange Day volunteer project at the Greater Boston Food Bank (70 South Bay Ave.) from 1-3:30 p.m. 
Volunteers will work in the Food Bank’s warehouse, inspecting, sorting, and replacing donated food and grocery projects. Volunteers will be trained for their project, and all volunteers must be 16 years of age and older. There is limited space available for participation. Please wear closed-toed shoes.Thanks for helping us play a part to end hunger here in Boston!

Annual Jack Oakie Comedy Event

April 05: LOS ANGELES - A night of comedy with the SU alums and writers of the new sitcom 'Trial and Error' to benefit our SULA semester scholarship from the Jack and Victoria Horn Oakie Foundation. 

iSchool Alumni Reception

April 06: BOSTON - Boston-area alumni, along with their guests, are invited to attend an alumni reception hosted by the School of Information Studies (iSchool) from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Harvard Club-Boston Downtown (1 Federal St, Boston, MA 02110). Mix, mingle, and network with other Boston-area alumni, iSchool faculty and staff, and members of the iSchool’s Board of Advisors, in town for their spring meeting.

National Orange Day: Portland

April 08: PORTLAND - Join Stumptown Orange for an afternoon of service April 8 at the Oregon Food Bank (7900 NE 33rd Dr.). We'll gather from 1-3:30 p.m. to do good for ourselves and the greater Portland community with some food packing. After our shift, we’ll find a nearby brewpub to raise a glass to SU’s 147th birthday! April 11: WASHINGTON - The next SU in DC Alumni Club monthly meeting will be Tuesday, April 11, at 6:45 p.m. at the Greenberg House (2301 Calvert St. NW.). Meetings are open to the general public.

Orange Advantage: Cleveland

April 13: CLEVELAND - The Syracuse University Alumni Club of Northeast Ohio is teaming up with Syracuse University’s offices of Alumni Engagement and Career Services to present the Orange Advantage professional development opportunity. Participants can take the interactive True Colors personality test to learn about their personality type, and the different personality types you encounter in the workplace. There is a reception at 6 p.m., followed by the True Colors program at 7 p.m. Participants will enjoy food and beverages, and the cost is $10 per person. There will also be one-on-one career counseling and resume feedback from Career Services provided earlier in the day. Resume reviews and one-on-one career counseling will occur from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants can sign up for a half-hour slot: 11-11:30 a.m., 11:40 a.m.-12:10 p.m., 12:20-12:50 p.m., 1-1:30 p.m., 1:40-2:10 p.m., and 2:20-2:50 p.m. The resume review/career counseling sessions are FREE to attend! 

DC Outing to "Chicago"

April 14: WASHINGTON - The Syracuse University Alumni Club of Washington, D.C. invites alumni for a special performance of “Chicago,” Broadway’s longest-running American musical. We're attending the 7:30 p.m. show on Friday, April 14 at the Kennedy Center Opera House (2700 F Street NW). Men's Lacrosse Game Watch vs. UNC

April 15: FERNDALE - The Syracuse University Alumni Club of Michigan invites all area alumni to join us for a game watch as the Syracuse men’s lacrosse team takes on North Carolina. Your family and friends are welcome to attend as we cheer on the Orange on April 15 at Rosie O'Grady's in Ferndale (279 W. Nine Mile Rd.)! Food and drinks will be available for purchase. National Orange Day: Central New Jersey

April 22: LONG BRANCH - The Syracuse University Alumni Club of Central New Jersy is participating in National Orange Day on Saturday, April 22. Join us as we participate in a beach sweep clean-up at the Pier Village (23 Ocean Ave.). Come clean debris on the New Jersey Shore Beach from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Volunteers will meet at Pier Village for this service project, and afterwards, club members who volunteer will receive a free lunch at the Turning Point in Pier Village. April 26: ATLANTA - Join us for an engaging discussion on several campus topics that are of great interest to alumni, parents, donors, and friends of SU. James Hadnot ’17, a broadcast & digital journalism student, will lead the discussion with Chancellor Kent Syverud, Director of Athletics John Wildhack '80, and Joyce LaLonde ’17, vice president of the Student Association. Our program will be proceeded by a networking reception from 6-7 p.m. with beverages and hors d'oeuvres in a one-of-a-kind venue with a breathtaking glass ceiling that soars 86 feet above the world's largest dinosaurs. The program begins promptly at 7 p.m.

April 28: SYRACUSE - Join us for a reception and auction to benefit the Syracuse University Men's Soccer program, The cost is $40.00 per person, that includes complimentary beer, wine and heavy hors d'oeuvres.

May 24: WASHINGTON - Join Chancellor Kent Syverud, Director of Athletics John Wildhack '80, and Valerie Smith '17, College of Visual and Performing Arts, for an engaging discussion on several campus topics that are of great interest to SU's proud, passionate alumni. James Hadnot ’17, S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, will serve as moderator. Hadnot will lead the discussion inside the glamorous Moretti Grand Ballroom in the historic Watergate Hotel. New-Student Send-Off

August 03: PORTLAND - Join Stumptown Orange for our 11th annual New-Student Send-Off, on August 3. We'll hold an informal evening where we welcome the newest members of the Syracuse University family. Join us for a BBQ/potluck at the home of member Christie Martin in Raleigh Hills. The send-off is always one of the highlights of our Stumptown Orange year! More details to follow.

Coming Back Together

September 14 to 17: SYRACUSE - Started in 1983, Coming Back Together (CBT) was the first reunion of its kind in the nation. It brings African American and Latino alumni back to campus to celebrate their accomplishments and see how Syracuse University has grown and changed over the years. It also introduces current students to successful alumni to make connections and get their advice on making the most of their time after graduation.
Held every three years, CBT gives our alumni an opportunity to catch up, reminisce, and share their vision for how they can keep the University moving forward. The weekend features a full schedule of distinguished speakers, networking, social, and academic events, and of course, the thrill of an SU football game.
