What is the Forever Orange Student Alumni Council?

The Forever Orange Student Alumni Council celebrates the Orange spirit that is unique to Syracuse University students and alumni. The Council educates on the importance of philanthropy and stewardship, fosters student-alumni connections and encourages service to the University and the surrounding community. The Forever Orange Student Alumni Council empowers all members of the Orange family to recognize and embody what it means to “Be Orange.”

What are the council's goals?

  • Encourage students to show their Orange pride by getting involved and giving back to Syracuse University.
  • Build class unity via special events and communications.
  • Create awareness of the council and the Syracuse University Alumni Association through social media and campus events.
  • Partner with established student organizations and departments to engage a wider audience.

Members of the 2023-24 council

Linda Baguma '25

Linda Baguma is from the Democratic Republic of Congo and a current resident of Iowa city, Iowa, pursuing a double major in political science and international relations. In addition to FOSAC, she serves the university campus as a senator in the Syracuse University Senate, a member of the Syracuse University Public Safety Community Review Board, and a member in the Student Association for SU and SUNY-ESF. Linda joined FOSAC in the spring of 2023 and is grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve Syracuse University community.

Aminata Ceesay ’24

Aminata Ceesay is from the Bronx,NY Majoring in Information Management and Technology with a concentration in Data Analytics and a minor in Geography. Aside from the council, Aminata is Service and Philanthropy chair of the Syracuse University Alpha Omicron Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi, Co-Conference planning chair of the National Society of Black Engineers, Researcher with WiTec through the iSchool, and a printer writer for Moody Magazine. Aminata is interested in consulting and data science but also has a passion for service which she hopes to fulfill through the council.

Ellen Clark'25

Ellen Clark is from St. Jean des Ollières, France, and is a current resident of Sandpoint. Idaho. She is pursuing a double major in Citizenship and Civic Engagement and Political Philosophy and is also a member of the Renee Crown Honors Program. Outside of FOSAC, Ellen is the president of the Philosophy Club at SU, the vice president of the New York Zeta chapter of the Phi Sigma Tau International Philosophy Honors Society, and a Young Research Fellow. She is also the logistics coordinator for Mock Trial at SU, a tour guide with the University 100, and works as an RA in a first-year residence hall. Ellen joined FOSAC in the spring of 2023.

Ethan Coulon '25

Ethan Coulon is from Aix-en-Provence, France, and is pursuing a double major in International Relations and Political Science. In addition to FOSAC, Ethan is a Resident Advisor in a first-year residence hall, a transportation intern at the Shaw Center for Public and Community Service and a research assistant for the department of History. Ethan joined FOSAC in Spring of 2023.

Megan Edenfeld '25

Megan Edenfeld headshot

Megan Edenfeld is a Maxwell Leadership Scholar from Portland, Oregon. She is pursuing a major in international relations with a dual in economics, as well as a minor in psychology. Aside from being on the Council, Megan is a Student Ambassador for the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, the Fall 2023 Peer Mentor for the International Relations Living Learning Community, a member of the Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence, and a Concessions Worker at the Dome. Megan joined FOSAC in 2022 and is the current President of the Council.

Margaret Eequinca-Moreno '25

Margaret Esquinca-Moreno is from San Antonio, Texas. She is pursuing a double major in Business Analytics and Information Management and Technology. In addition to FOSAC, Margaret is a part of the Renee Crown Honors Program, CHAARG, and Syracuse University Gymnastics. Margaret joined FOSAC in the Spring of 2023.

Sarah Frankel '24

Sarah Frankel is from Long Island, New York pursuing a degree in information management and technology at the School of Information Studies with a minor in accounting in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. She is a host on campus radio station WJPZ-FM (Z89), a tour guide for University 100, a member of OrangeSeeds, an FYS 101 teaching assistant, an active member of Syracuse Hillel and a brother of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity. Sarah has a passion for what it means to be Orange and joined FOSAC in spring 2022.

Anna Ginelli '25

Anna Ginelli is from Malvern, Pennsylvania majoring in magazine, newspaper and digital journalism and political science. In addition to FOSAC, she is a part of the Renée Crown Honors Program, Student Association, University Union, the Alumni Association Board of Directors and Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity. Anna joined FOSAC in Spring 2022.

Heather Johnson '25

Heather Johnson is studying Economics and Information Management Technology with a minor in German born in Arlington, Virginia. On top of being a member in FOSAC, Heather serves as the Vice President for University Union, Syracuse’s student-run entertainment programming board and is a Brother of Delta Sigma Pi, the professional business fraternity on campus. Heather joined FOSAC in spring of 2023.

Kari Kelly ’25

Kari Kelly is an 1870 Scholar recipient and Whitman Leadership Scholar from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Pursuing a double major in business management and political science, Kari serves as the VP of Marketing for the Renee Crown Honors Advisory Board, and is a member of Slice Consulting, University Union’s Concerts E-Board, and Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity. Kari also works as a writer and journalist for the Whitman School of Management’s marketing and communications department. Kari joined FOSAC in spring of 2023.

Jada Marie Knight ’25

Jada Marie Knight is a Posse Miami Foundation Scholar from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She is pursuing a major in Television, Radio, & Film (TRF), as well as a minor in Innovation, Design, & Startups (IDS) in the iSchool. Aside from being on the council, Jada Marie serves on the SU Council for Diversity & Inclusion, is Event Coordinator for the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ)- SU chapter, and is an Our Time Has Come (OTHC) Scholar. She is also a Resident Advisor to first-year students, an FYS 101 Peer Leader, a content creator for the Newhouse social media team, and the co-creator of “From: Black Womxn”, a panel which aims to uplift IBPOC womxn within the Syracuse Community. Jada Marie joined FOSAC in the spring of 2023 and is proud to be of service to the Syracuse University community. 

Yasmin Nayrouz '24

Yasmin Nayrouz is from Rochester, New York pursuing a dual degree in English & textual studies and public relations. On campus, Yasmin is involved in Student Association and the Perception literary magazine. She’s also a member of the Renée Crown Honors Program and the Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence (ICCAE).

John Nipper G’24

John Nipper is presently pursuing a master's degree in public administration, specializing in National & International Security Policy, at Syracuse University's prestigious Maxwell School. Holding the office of President within the Syracuse Student Veteran’s Organization (SVO), he is committed to empowering fellow student veterans by facilitating successful transitions and favorable outcomes. In addition to FOSAC, John's previous involvement extends to partnering with Maxwell Executive Education which administers the Veterans Program for Politics and Civic Engagement, and National Security Management Program, underscoring John’s commitment to nurturing the growth of future public service leaders. John ardently dedicates himself to enhancing his capacity to support his fellow students through their academic endeavors. John strives to epitomize the embodiment of dedicated service, transformative leadership, and passionately seeks to uphold Syracuse University's values, characterized by an unwavering dedication to public service and a commitment to elevating the lives of those he encounters.

Isaiah Patterson '26

Isaiah Patterson is from Syracuse, New York and is currently studying Information Management & Technology in the iSchool. He currently creating his own mentorship program withing Syracuse City School District and is a Director in the Black Student Union. Isaiah looks forward to being able to engage further with the Syracuse community and meet new people and create new bonds and connections.

Julia Penfield ’25 

Julia Penfield is from Baldwinsville, NY, and is pursuing a double major in Finance and Supply Chain. In addition to FOSAC, Julia is involved in Syracuse University’s Investment Club, on the judicial board for the Panhellenic Council, and a member of Delta Delta Delta. Julia joined FOSAC in the spring of 2023.

Carly Phung '26

Carly Phung is from Richmond, Virginia, and is in the Maxwell School pursuing a B.S. in Biology on the pre-health/pre-med track. Within her first semester on campus in the Spring of 2023, Carly became involved in Student Association, Residence Hall Association, and Forever Orange Student Alumni Council (FOSAC).  In addition to these organizations, Carly is a member of the Student Advisory Council, and a newly recruited member of University Girl, a magazine and digital publishing organization on campus that promotes students to be “confident, fearless, career-oriented.” Carly hopes to create meaningful connections with the current and new members of FOSAC and looks forward to making an impact within the Syracuse community.

Matthew Reedy '26

Matthew Reedy is a resident of Chicago, but originally is from the suburbs. A Sport Analytics Major and Economics Minor, Matthew joined FOSAC as a first-year student in the 2022-23 academic year. In addition to FOSAC, on campus, Matthew remains an active member of the Baseball Sabermetrics and Statistics and Football Analytics clubs, while off campus, he currently works as a Research and Data Analysis Assistant for high school football scouting reports. Matthew looks forward to the opportunity to give back to Syracuse and represent the Orange.

Brisa Sanchez ’25 

Brisa Sanchez is from New York City and North Carolina. She is studying Finance and Business Analytics at Whitman School of Management. Additionally, is also studying International Relations at Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs with an Information Technology minor in the Ischool. In addition to being on the council, Brisa is  also on the Multicultural Council serving as the Event Coordinator, Vice President of Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Inc.; most recently now serving on the Finance Board for the Student Association. Brisa is interested in the technology/analytics and consulting fields but wants to get her master's in finance while working.

Otto Sutton '24

Otto Sutton is a Maxwell Leadership Scholar from Corning, New York majoring in political science, history and political philosophy with a minor in Spanish. In addition to FOSAC, he serves on campus as the chair of the Board of Elections for The Student Association for SU and SUNY-ESF, the vice president of the Catholic Association at SU, a chair on the University Conduct Board and as a member of the Sour Sitrus Society Pep Band. Otto joined FOSAC in the Spring of 2022, is excited to give back to the Syracuse University community.

Kennedy Williams '25

Kennedy Williams is a sophomore from Atlanta, Georgia pursuing a double major in political science and anthropology. On campus, Kennedy is currently an assembly member and chair of university affairs in the Student Association for SU and SUNY-ESF, which is the governing body and advocacy group for all students. Kennedy is also a member of University 100 as a tour guide for the University, and a student office assistant at the Syracuse College of Law. Kennedy joined FOSAC in spring of 2022.
